This is a piece of work from julian opie which Liz has sent me for research.

I would have a problem adding this much detail though as i am trying to create an optical illusion.

Maybe i could add detail to the top half of the face?

    I agree totally - the level of detail on his most recent work isn't what you're looking for, however if you look through his back catalogue - blur - best of cover for example, you'll see he had a simpler illustrative style. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Opie
