Response to my illustration

I have asked friends and family of what they think about my design.

Firstly everyone liked my design and said it was something different.
My friends and family know i love swirls and they thought i combined two ideas together well.
It would work it colour and b&w

Problems

When i asked them what they thought my design represented, they all said "something to do with children"

I am a bit disappointed that know one could understand my design on first look, but the problem was even when i explained what and why i designed this illustration everyone went "ahhhhh still don't get it"

So even though i think i have to re design my illustration its not all bad news.

I have come up with a good design with a new technique i haven't tried before.

I just need to think before i put pen to paper, so i will do this by visiting the media city building on the weekend by taking photos, looking at whats around the building and seeing if i can speak to some people about what they think media city uk will bring to salford quays.
